Our History
South Texas Church of God was formed in 1997 as the result of a disagreement over governance and not doctrine with our former affiliation.
The ByLaws of South Texas Church of God provide for a congregational form of governance where the majority of the members would vote to make the physical decisions and ministry would make the spiritual decisions.
John Alexander was chosen to be the Pastor
Terry Post was ordained an elder in 1998
Terry Post took over the reins as Pastor in 2002
Our Mission
The mission of the South Texas Church of God is to love God, keep His commandments and teach the truth of the Bible, the only source of healing for mankind! The South Texas Church of God exists as part of the Body of Christ. We seek to create an atmosphere whereby called out ones may freely congregate in worship and obedience to God and His Son Jesus Christ. Spiritual growth, righteous character and agape love are our goals for all. We desire to be an example of unity within the Body of Christ, thereby enabling the successful preaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. John 17:21
